RGA Awards Operation Food Search $25,000 Grant to Support Its Fresh RX: Prescribing Healthy Futures Program | Business

June 2022 (ST. LOUIS) – Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated (RGA) has awarded Operation Food Search a $25,000 grant for 2022 in support of its innovative Fresh RX: Prescribing Healthy Futures Program. The program supports food insecure families who have a child ages 12-18 with Type 1 diabetes by providing nutritionally whole meal kits and family resources, including cooking support and diabetes education and information.

RGA focuses its philanthropic giving in four areas, one of which addresses health and longevity. This includes work that reduces health disparities found in the analysis of the leading causes of mortality.

“Operation Food Search knows that good nutrition is central to illness prevention, which is what sparked the creation of our Fresh RX: Prescribing Health Futures program,” said Kristen Wild, President and CEO of OFS. “We appreciate RGA’s investment in food as good medicine.”
