Cooking oil thefts on the rise
(WFSB) – It is dirty, greasy and smelly, but employed cooking oil is valuable.
We observed it Thursday when police mentioned robbers crossed into Connecticut to get some.
Eyewitness Information took a closer glance at what some cafe proprietors are contacting “liquid gold.”
The two suspects who police said went to Aged Saybrook to siphon used cooking oil from a area restaurant ended up in court Friday.
Prince Gonzalez and Leuri Blanco, both from New York, are accused of top police on a chase down I-95 while also hanging an aged driver.
A judge set their bonds at $20,000 and $15,000.

The black marketplace price of cooking oil is however unclear, in Vernon, Wright imagines it just can’t be a large amount.
“They’ll appear and choose a couple of hundred gallons a year and I’ll get maybe a $10 check,” Wright claimed.
