Celebrities like Antoni and Amy Schumer are starring in at-home cooking shows these days, and now Selena Gomez will be a part of her own.
Selena’s show, which will be 10 full episodes on HBO Max, will follow her as she tries her hand at cooking different recipes in her kitchen. The foods will be from all different cuisines, and a master chef will join her remotely each episode to give her some tips.
HBO Max is a new streaming service that is set to launch on May 27. The platform will host a bunch of new content, including Selena’s currently untitled cooking show, as well as offering fan-favorite series like Friends and The Big Bang Theory.
While the singer-songwriter has a list of talents (she’s dipping her toes into the makeup industry too), Selena isn’t an experienced cook. Some of the advice the guest chefs offer throughout the series include how to substitute ingredients and how to deal with kitchen fires. Although Selena’s not a total pro, she’s always had a love and curiosity for cooking, she said when she confirmed the news.
“I’ve always been very vocal about my love of food. I think I’ve been asked hundreds of times in interviews if I had another career, what would I do and I’ve answered that it would be fun to be a chef,” Selena said in a statement, according to the Associated Press: “I definitely don’t have the formal training though! Like many of us while being home I find myself cooking more and experimenting in the kitchen.”
Along with starring in the series, Selena will have an executive producer credit for the show.
